EDIHs (European Digital Innovation Hubs) are platforms that help SMEs and public administrations to digitally transform themselves to increase their competitiveness and sustainability. These platforms are run by consortia of private and public companies active in digitalisation. They are funded by the Digital Europe Programme and possibly also by national sources. There are 5 EDIHs in Slovakia. Hopero is part of the network of European Digital Innovation Centres.
Hopero focuses on helping SMEs, municipalities and public institutions that want to digitally transform themselves with the help of AI. But we also help digital service providers and startups to improve their products, find new customers and expand abroad. The criteria for businesses is to employ less than 500 people and have an annual turnover not exceeding EUR 100 million.
The first step is to register via the “I’m interested” section. After completing the questionnaire, we will verify your eligibility for state aid (if you are a business), propose you a comprehensive package from our portfolio of services and then you can benefit from them through workshops, seminars, participation in events or individual consultations.
Hopero does not provide “traditional” IT services, does not develop customized digital products, and does not operate IT solutions. Therefore, we are not a competitor of IT vendors, our services are complementary to typical IT services because we help our clients to define their digital needs correctly and find the right solution. However, we can help test AI technology, develop AI prototypes, or provide high-performance infrastructure to test advanced applications.
Hopero will provide its group services (training and workshops) in so-called trimesters, approximately three-month intervals. The placement of a company in a trimester is determined by Hopero based on the date of registration and capacity availability. The biggest benefit of all services you can take from intensive training and courses they offered for you during one trimester. However, you can continue to participate in our events after that, and you will also retain access to the client area, where you will be able to search for suitable technology companies for your next projects or further educate yourself with our expert materials.
Not at this time. Hopero services are provided to companies based in Slovakia.
Hopero will provide its services until September 2025. It is possible that the operation of Hopero as well as other EDIHs will be extended beyond this date.
The value of our services reflects the expertise of our experts in the areas of artificial intelligence, assistance in sourcing funding, and ecosystem insights. Our services are funded directly by the European Commission and the Recovery Plan, so you get them for free in the form of state aid through a de minimis scheme. This scheme is available to small and medium sized enterprises and up to €200,000 over 3 consecutive years. However, the criterion is that all debts owed to the state and social and health insurance companies must be settled. State and public institutions, as non-market entities, receive the aid directly and free of charge, without recourse to the scheme.

Yes, EDIH Hopero allows clients to find suitable partners – suppliers, customers, or collaborators. You can find a partner for your digital project not only during networking events but also by using the matchmaking tool in the client area to find a suitable partner according to the parameters you specify.
Yes, through the our services we can help you to prepare your application for project funding. EDIH Hopero allows you to consult with funding experts about your project and provides information about grant funding or specific funding calls that have been announced.
